Position: English/Business Instructor in Wuhan

After commencing fall, 2011, Study Group China launched International Study Programs in partnership with the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE, Beijing) and Wuhan University.
The ISPs are preparing students recruited in the People’s Republic of China who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate level studies in one of the major Anglophone student destinations worldwide, the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Republic of Ireland. Students will study mixed programs involving first year university level sciences, English language, business coursework and academic study skills development along with academic courses to bridge between their qualifications gained in China and the qualifications normally accepted by the receiving universities as meeting their standard entry requirements for study at the undergraduate or graduate levels. About the position： Qualifications: MBA or MBA Business, Higher-level degree preferred. Substantial teaching experience (3+ years preferred) with non-native speakers of English.
An understanding of the challenges faced by Chinese students studying abroad. Willingness to introduce the students to the university experience overseas. Key Accountabilities: Meeting Study Group standards as set out in the staff handbook.
Teaching a maximum of 20 hours a week academic instruction, Max 2 hours IELTs/English Corner 2 office hours. Preparing appropriate teaching materials for delivery of academic courses at pre-university and undergraduate levels. Establishing, promoting and maintaining a focused and productive classroom learning environment. Writing student assignments, in-term tests and end of course examinations and related mark schemes to deadlines set by the Academic Director/Examinations Officer.
Undertaking the regular grading of student work and providing students with substantial and helpful feedback on that work. Participating fully in the summative assessment of students through the grading of assignments, in-term tests/quizzes and final course examinations. Providing the Academic Director with formal reports and informal feedback on student progress, as required. Supplying final course grades in a timely fashion to the Academic Director/Examinations Officer for the end of term examination boards. Contributing material to the Academic Director for inclusion in the annual report on the work and progress of the ISPs as a whole.
Participating in staff meetings, as called by the Academic Director. Assisting the Academic Director and administrative staff in student orientation. Assisting in student recruitment. Maintaining knowledge of current developments in the relevant field of study.
